Simulating a life in Gaza

The player can chose between three characters, a student, who wants to go to university, a father who tries to go back to his family and an ice cream manufacturer who wants to start a business. These citizens are deprived of basic human rights due to the blockade of Gaza. Another section of the website informs extensively on the impact of the blockade on trade, higher education and family life through convincingly presenting facts and documents. Among other shocking facts we learn that an orphan "can only join his or her surviving parent in the West Bank if there is no other family member in Gaza to take care of him or her" or that the universities in Gaza are denied books and equipment and that their students and staff are systematically denied of advancing their carreers and knowledge.

'Safe Passage' is an online game that demonstrates how the Israelian blockade of Gaza affects civil life, confining citizens to a limited space, depriving them of education, the freedom to chose a job, an appartment or to travel to visit relatives and friends.
